Our story

Flavours from the far south-west

Yunnan sits where China meets Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam, and its food tastes like it: wild mushrooms from the mountains, cured beef, mint, lemongrass and lime from the Dai villages, potatoes done a dozen ways, and fish cooked in passion fruit broth. Impression of Yunnan Table brings that kitchen to a small heritage shop on Mary Ann Street, a short walk from Central and UTS. Portions are made for sharing, most dishes sit under twenty dollars, and if you are not sure what a Paoluda is, just ask. We like explaining.

A hidden gem in Ultimo! Authentic Yunnan food with generous portions and great flavours. The Passion Fruit Fish and Mushroom Rice were amazing, and every dish we ordered was delicious.

We ordered 12 dishes here and they were all good. Several dishes have no counterparts that you'll find elsewhere in Sydney.

The food is genuinely good, especially the pot rice, the mashed potato, and the ribs. Their special drink is also a great addition to the meal.
